Randwick House was an exercise in subtly transforming a traditional California Bungalow to make it suitable for contemporary life and a busy family. With a modest budget, this full scale refurbishment sought to revive the hundred year old house, removing its mid-1970s asbestos add-on and improving the layout to include new bathrooms, dressing room and laundry, while opening up to harness the light and cross ventilation. Subtle interventions to the front facade managed to cleverly incorporate parking in a tight space whilst retaining the essential character of the bungalow.
